At your appointment, the practitioner will conduct:
Ear Inspection – We use a small handheld camera to look into the ear canal and visually inspect the ear drum. Our live feed TV let’s you see exactly what we see. We check to make sure you do not have excessive ear wax, which can cause temporary hearing loss.
Pure-tone – A series of beeps is presented through headphones at varying volume levels at low and high tones. This provides important information about your hearing. Bone conduction tests also help us to determine the type of hearing loss and what the best course of action is to remedy the loss..
Hearing Health History – You will be asked a series of easy questions regarding your hearing history to determine how your current hearing affects you and others.
Speech –This test tells us how clear speech is to you; it will predict your benefit with hearing aids and which style of hearing aid will be best for your loss.
